Topic: Inspiration or Fool
Here, it can be said that Chris McCandless was really excited to enter the wild, and he knew that once he began his journey, he did not want any sort of touch with the real world. McCandless is going on this trip because to him, wilderness is relaxing, and him being able to explore, not knowing where he is or not having to worry about that time probably helps him relax a ot more.

Do not assume
‘Post’ Title: Do not assume.
"I’d thought he’d be fine in the end…he was smart. He’d figured out how to paddle a canoe down to Mexico, how to hope freight trains, how to score a bed at inner-city missions. He figured all of that out on his own, and I felt sure he’d figure out Alaska, too" (Krakauer 44).
Topic: Inspiration Or Foo
Here, it could be said that the man talk about Chris McCandless though Chris was intelligent enough to make this forest trip out alive. The man heard all of Chris's stories and from Chris's impressive experiences with nature, the man thought is was okay for Chris to make this horrible decision to go into the forest unprepared. This man is a fool, because even though he though Alex was experienced enough to make it out alive, he should have still made a better effort to stop Chris from making such a horrible decision to walk into the forest with no experience and little to no supplies. Chris had never been to Alaska either so the man could not have just assumed Chris would figure Alaska out problem free, and he should have helped Chris, or should have tried harder to convince him to not go into the forest.

Everyone has their own "get away" activity.
‘Post’ Title: Everyone has their own "get away" activity.
"At long last he [McCandless] was unencumbered, emancipated from the stifling world of his parents and peers, a world of abstraction and security and material excess, a world in which he felt grievously cut off from the raw throb of existence... he intended to invent an utterly new life for himself, one in which he would be free to wallow in unfiltered experience" (Krakauer 22).
Topic: Inspiration Or Fool
Here, it can be said that Chris McCandless could not wait to graduate college and separate himself from his life and family, so he can go live a worry free life in his "get away" spot, nature. Although the outcome of this trip was not very great, McCandless is an inspiration to me. He shows that he was not afraid to disown the morals of his family and peers to graduate college and work a well-paying job. He shows that no matter the circumstances, you should do what makes you happy, that its your life and you do not have to satisfy anyone else. After watching a TedX in class and having a better understanding of McCandless's background, I realized he used nature as his "get away" spot, a place to relax and clear all his thoughts from an abusive father. I can relate to this because whenever something is bothering me in life, I use skating as my "get away" activity, and I just skate in the same direction for miles, and listen to music to clear my mind and feel less stressed out.
